It was four-thirty in the morning and there was a steady mist in the forest air, so fine that the little droplets stuck to the vampire's face mimicking little beads of sweat - not that he sweat anymore. The vampire ascended high up into a tree and threw his legs over each side of a thick branch, hooking his quiver and bow on a smaller and thinner branch slightly above him. Alistair had found himself bored in America, and he started to second guess his decision to come back and honor the debt he felt he owed the Cullen's. If it were any other instance he would have no care in the world for anyone else and leave once he found himself uninterested in his surroundings, but for one reason or another he stayed. He figured hunting, if anything, would give him some sort of sense of contentment in this new city he would indefinitely be calling home. Forks had become a painful reminder of his cowardice and abandonment, and now knowing it was for nothing hurt him even worse. Part of him thought he deserved the pain of it every moment he stayed there, and so he would. The muscle memory of the last time he was crouched in a tree flooded his thoughts and suddenly he was taken back to times of watching the newborn vampire Bella train to fight against the Volturi - and here he was once again because the Volturi took claim to these very lands. The universe had a funny way of coming full circle, and he sure as hell wasn't going to mess it up this time. About an hour went by and it was time for Alistair to snap out of his thoughts and prepare for animal activity with sunrise only about an hour and a half away. He focused his thoughts and projected his energy out through the forest to get a feeling for buck and bear movements, but he picked up the energy of something else. An animal, but one like him. His eyes scanned the forest floor below him, unable to pinpoint the exact location of the moving being. Alistair scowled to himself and tried once again to focus on his hunt, but the energy of another person was bouncing off of his body so rapidly that his brain felt as if it were the floor of a basketball court.

Mel had been preparing her lesson for the day but as she finished she realized how long it had been since she'd hunted. She need to feed. Having lived 3600 years she had spent a majority of that hunting humans. It wasn't until she met her new family that she found out about another way to feed. She had a difficult time with it considering how long she had fed on humans but it had been 20ish years since she'd drank from a human and she had every intention of continuing that. So here she was rushing through the woods tracking something to eat. Running through the forest she locked onto something but soon she caught scent of something else. Something like her. Stopping she found herself turning in a circle. Stopping she closed her eyes trying to locate the being. Her eyes snapped open and she found herself moving before she even realized it. Standing below the tree she looked up before smirking. "Alistair. I see you've finally decided to be seen."she said with her arms crossed over her chest. Mel tilted her head as she stared up at the man she hadn't seen for quite some time. She had to admit she wondered what caused him to return after such a long time. ALISTAIR SAVIERO SMYTHE

The movement of the other being vibrated instantly off of Alistair, the white noise piercing his ears and leaving him unable to focus on anything else. Within seconds his bow had been drawn as he felt the gap between the two get smaller and smaller, and he shut one eye as he peered down the arrow waiting for his new target. He wasn't there to make friends or have an early morning chat. When the figure was finally in sight he rose to his feet, straightening out his shoulders as he prepared to let the arrow slip between his fingers and stop whatever was distracting him, but in the split second it took him to focus he heard his name being called out. Immediately his shoulders dropped and his brows scrunched together as he lazily hung his bow without breaking sight of the... woman? As the voice spoke out again a wave of familiarity washed over him and he let out a low sigh of both relief and disappointment. It had been centuries since he had heard that voice, leading him to believe that this would be no short conversation if past interactions with people taught him anything. "Well I didn't exactly expect to be seen at five-thirty in the morning in the forest." He forced a raspy chuckle and descended to the forest floor, leaving his hunting equipment up in the tree. Of course he absolutely did not need it since there was no non-supernatural creature that could out run or best a vampire, but there was no sport in that. When he found himself face to face with Mele he bowed his head slightly and took her hand in his, gently kissing the top of her hand - old soul, old habits. He looked over the woman, though she was no different than the first time he laid eyes on her. To date Mele is the oldest vampire he has ever met - greatly surpassing the 800 years of vampire wisdom under Alistair's belt. "I know I'm not the most social of butterflies but I never would have imagined running into you here." The universe really does have a funny way of working, and actually seeing Mele in Washington brought a sense of familiarity in an odd way since any time he did cross paths with her it was a long time ago in Europe. The tenseness i his muscles relaxed around his old acquaintance. "What are you doing here, anyway?"

Mel knew Alistair was a hunter. She knew from the beginning. It was who he was. It was ingrained into his being. So it was no surprise seeing the arrow pointing at her. Though it couldn't hurt her. She had dodged many arrows in her existence. In fact some from the very man perched in the tree. She smirked hearing his words and nodded with understanding. "I suppose you have a point there. Though our kind is found in these forests more often within recent years."she replied. Mel allowed a small smile to grace her lips as he bowed his head and kissed the top of her hand. No one had done that in some time and it was very refreshing to have the old soul in front of her. It was strange in a way as he was only 800 years old. A baby compared to Mel's 3600 years on this planet. She had seen so much in her days and she was always refreshed when she ran into him. Laughing lightly while looking to the floor she smiled as her eyes raised to look at him. "I suppose you would quite expect me here."she replied and watched as he finally seemed to relax. "My family has returned here and I decided to come with them. I am a teacher in the local elementary school."Mel returned with a gentle smile. In all honesty Mel was surprised to see Alistair here in Washington. Afterall, when he left the Cullens after the conflict over Renesmee she tried to locate him to let him know what happened but he always eluded her. She had decided to level him be deciding eventually he would let his guard down. "Why are you here my friend? I never expected to see you return to this place."she asked hoping it didn't sound as bad as it probably did. ALISTAIR SAVIERO SMYTHE

"I guess I've just done a good job of avoiding them until now." He bantered, winking before he followed Mele's gaze from the floor back to making eye contact with him. Before he had the chance to ask the questions that were first popping to mind she was answering them. He smirked at the mention of her job - it was admirable, but he had to laugh because he himself was not one who should ever be left alone with a child and the brief thought of role reversal was rather amusing. "How long have you been back? I'm actually rather disappointed in myself that I hadn't sensed you before, Ms. Brennan." In most cases Alistair is always one step ahead of people, though the forced of luck were on his side at the very least as the older vampire wasn't unbearable to be around as he felt around most people. Alistair ran a hand through his hair, pausing momentarily as he tried to free his fingers from the traps of tangled hair before he went on. With a frustrated grunt he ripped through the locks and crossed his arms, once again locking eyes with Mele with a sheepish grin creeping onto his face. Messy hair, messy life - the vampire rolled through life going day by day. "That makes two of us who never expected to find myself here again. But I also never expected the Volturi to return either." He shrugged, cocking his eyebrow. "I just don't intend to ever again be the prey running away from the hunter. I'm the hunter."A lone hunter. Alistair was reminded how little he changed through the years as his thoughts back-tracked to the mention of Mele's family. His brain started to make connections, and he realized just why the two happened to bump into one another in the early hours of the morning in the middle of the woods. She wasn't wandering through because she belonged to a coven now, and finally he put two and two together. "Speaking of hunting, you're here to hunt for food? Because... you're here with your vegetarian family." He nodded as he said it out loud, snapping his fingers as he finished his revelation. "I also came back with some vegetarians after finding myself coming full circle with Edward and Isabella Cullen." He paused for only a moment before crossing his arms and shrugging once again. "Well, I met them back here technically. They don't travel in my style." He snickered as he relived the moments in his head when he found out the people he had surrounded himself with for months had actually lived, leading to him believing he owed them a debt. You have to be able to laugh at your own pain, after all.

Hearing him she shook her head with a smirk on her lips. ”I suppose that’s easy for an amazing tracker such as yourself.”she said as her smirk remained on his lips. She found a silly giggle slipped out of her lips as she wondered what was on his mind after she revealed her job to him. At his question she thought back to how long she had been back in Forks. ”I’ve been back a little over a year or so.”she said then tilted her head and nodded in agreement. ”I am too. I tried to come find you to let you know what happened but you evaded me.”she said with a slight frown. It did sadden her that she had been unable to locate him after what happened here all those years ago. Watching him run his hand through his hair she waited for his response. She frowned watching him and when his eyes locked with hers she was surprised by the grin that appeared on his face. She laughed and shook her head watching him. Looking down she frowned, ”I don’t think any of us expected them to return. But we all know why they’re really here. It’s just nobody talks about it.”she replied softly and shook her head at the thought. The corner of her lip cocked up slightly as he spoke of being the hunter and not the prey. ”I must say, I am proud of you, Alistair. You’ve come a long way.”Mel responded with a smile slipping across her face. Mel found she was chuckling at the words he spoke. ”Seems strange doesn’t it? I hunted humans for such a long time. Seems silly to be a vegetarian after such a long time of hunting humans.”she said in response. When he snapped her head snapped up and she stared at him curious. At his words she tilted her head curious to but was surprised when he mentioned Edward and Bella. ”Our cousins. It’s been some time since I’ve seen them. I hope they are well.”she said with a smile on her face. Mel shook her head listening to him. ”You hunt animals for sport why not just hunt them for food like you did when you were a human? Since you try to avoid human contact at all cost.”she said intending the second park of her statement as a joke. ”It’s a waste of perfectly good blood otherwise.”she said looking up at him. When Mele's words of flattery reached his ears he couldn't help but let a chuckle escape his lips. An amazing tracker, something he stopped calling himself as the years went by. A skill he spent hundreds of year perfecting a stupid and undeserving newborn vampire could be gifted with upon transformation. But that was neither here nor there, and he shook his head as if it would shake the thought from his mind entirely. "Skilled enough to avoid what I thought was the word of everyone's obituaries." He shrugged. "I must say I'm happy to be wrong and find myself in your presence again. It takes the guilt off, is all." He quickly added, not to be one to be caught caring of course. Alistair thought about what she said about his avoidance of human contact for a few moments before softly shrugging his shoulders. "I guess it's not senseless to change your diet, humans are just a different type of animal after all. Some things change and evolve over time, but I am not one of those things." Though he enjoyed the taste of cattle eight-hundred and some odd years ago, the taste of animal blood couldn't compare to the taste of human blood in his new life - and of all the pleasures he denies himself that the world has to offer human blood is not one of them. He cleared his throat before smirking as she spoke once again. "Besides, it's trivial for me to care about what others do and eat. He winked, returning her banter. "Maybe you should take notes." The man had been traveling by himself for as long as his memory would let him dive into, he never had to worry about profile control and meal prepping, or any concerns a coven faces with needing to feed in numbers. His nomadic havoc had its perks, once you get over the eternally lonely existence. Perhaps it wouldn't be terrible if it was all I had ever known, such as your cousin Isabella, who is doing well after lengthy traveling.. and picking up ragged acquaintances along the way." "We all know why they’re really here. It’s just nobody talks about it."Everyone except for Alistair, who lived under a rock. And if no one talked about it, well then it was certainly time to. The vampire cocked his eyebrow, crossing his arms and raising one slightly to run his thumb over his bottom lip. "Enlighten me, Mele. I think we have both pieces of a larger puzzle to share." His teeth grazed his lip before he spoke, dropping his arm to cross the other. "What do you know of their motivations?" She had been back longer than him, but he did have more contact with her cousins and once again found himself part of a loop that was an energy source for chaos.

Mel watched him as they stood there speaking and she found herself laughing at the words that flowed off his tongue. ”Of course. Wouldn’t want to be caught caring for people, hmm, Alistair?”she said with a smirk slipping onto her lips. She couldn’t help but say the words. She knew that deep down he really cared about those that had been around during that time. She knew him better then she let on to him. Though she had spent a far longer time figuring people out than he had. Shrugging she released a very human sigh and nodded. ”You could be. You learned to care about a group of people so much that you avoided people coming to tell you the outcome of the non-existent battle. I think that is at least some type of change.”she said with a tilt of her head and a smile to her lips. ”Anyone can change. They just have to want to change. Look at me.”she said gesturing to herself. Rolling her eyes she shrugged, ”As you wish. I shall stay out of your habits but it doesn’t make me any less sad for the human’s.”she said as she smiled at him than chuckled. ”All I knew was drinking from humans and I am proud to say I am completely reformed.”she said with a smirk rather than a proud smile. Mostly because she had drank from humans for a very, very long time. Seeing his reaction to her words of the Volturi she frowned and glanced away at it. There very well could be ears everywhere but she wasn’t that paranoid. ”I just know they were very upset over how everything ended. I interrupted that they want to take over Cullen territory or at least that’s what it seems. Why else would they leave their cushy castle in Volterra to come all the way to Forks?”she said with a shrug. ”But I am just going off what I saw after they left. It makes sense though. As the Cullen family grows they feel more threatened despite the peaceful nature of the Cullens.”she said frowning at the turn in their conversation. ALISTAIR SAVIERO SMYTHE

Alistair peered down his nose through narrowed eyes, only letting a smirk take over his lips when the oddly delightful laughter of the other vampire stopped. He shrugged his shoulders slightly. "After all this time you still read me like an open book." The scruffy fellow really just wanted to avoid the reality of his own actions and as long as he didn't know the final pages of the story he could get make his own ending. The younger vampire was a bit more transparent than she seemed to give him credit for, however. He wanted to preserve what little strands of 'normalcy' still apart of the fibers of his being that he had left. Change does not come easy for him, processing even minor changes sets Alistair's sparks awry and usually ends in a bought of isolation - probably due to his isolation while still critically developing. "To each their own. My life has worked for me over the past couple hundred years, I see no reason to stop feeding from them as they do other animals. Life is just a game of who can last the longest and we're at the top, darling. That's something that will really never change."As the crisp morning air swept past his cheeks head tilted in motion with the breeze. An eyebrow rose, and Alistair kept his head slightly tilted as he once again narrowed his eyes down at the other woman. "Yes, you do seem reformed. Why did you exactly conform to a new coven?" The direction their conversation was going led him to believe that she was looking to change, but perhaps it did just stumble upon her. "The more the merrier to defend vampire livelihood and democracy against the dictatorship of the Volturi, I suppose." That is why he was once again there, after all. As the woman before him turned her head and looked away his eyes instinctively followed. Truth be told, he led on that he was a much better tracker than he was. He was sloppy and careless, so it was very possible for someone to be detected by Mele before himself. The thought caused a frown to spread to his lips, the corner of his mouth twitching as he pushed the thought from his mind. When she returned his gaze his eyes flickered back to the moment as he tried to assume a more friendly and calm stature. When the old friend started talking Alistair couldn't help but roll his eyes and let out an audible groan. "This is the biggest petty-party I've ever gotten myself into." From the accounts he was given of the century old incident the Cullen's without a doubt got the upper hand on the Volturi in an unprecedented victory - one would just think that the classy and refined, mature adults of the Volturi would have let bygones be bygones. "I just don't see the point of settling on a reservation controlled by dogs when that's the opposite of Cullen territory. I can't imagine why they're dragging out their end game so much, usually the Volturi is quick to act. It's just a bit unsettling, don't you think?"

Shrugging Mele looked up at him with a small smile. ”I think after 3000+ years of watching people I should be able to read people. Or rather I hope I can.”she said tapping her chin in thought for a moment. Looking back at him she smirked though, ”I can stop reading you if you’d like. Though it won’t be easy.”she said in reply. Mel shrugged and smiled at him. ”I suppose it was worth a try. I honestly didn’t think you would change but I had to ask. But in all honesty it worked for me as well for well over 3000 years. I guess I just needed a change of the normal.”she said shrugging at the thought.
At his question she stared at the ground with a sad smile on her mouth. ”I suppose it was more of a change but in all honesty it was the memory of my babies being stolen away from me that drove me to it completely. I lost my babies in a brutal way and I know the heartbreak of that. I had always felt guilty about taking someone else’s child from them. I didn’t know there was another way.”she said brushing hair behind her ear. She blinked before looking up at him with the same smile on her face. Mel nodded hearing him speak of defending against the Volturi. She was always weary around the topic of the Volturi.
Although she spoke of being 3000 plus years old she wasn’t a huge fan of completely revealing her age or her powers. She didn’t want them coming after her for any reason. Not that they would but she remembered the days before the Volturi and she remembered how scared people were. She remembered those days despite dealing with her own drama filled existence at the time. Mel figured they wouldn’t care about her one way or another but still she was cautious.
Hearing his groan she was surprised and looked up at him confused. She tried to hide her laughter behind her hand. Mel honestly thought that the Volturi could have just the matter go but they were greedy and didn’t stop till they get what they want. Shrugging Mel tilted her head in thought. ”Perhaps it’s all a part of their plan. Perhaps they will try to take over the whole of Forks soon. Greedy men will do anything for what they want.”she said as she stood there thinking.

As the minutes went by the sun rose higher to sit in it's eternal blue throne above them, and as it's position in the sky moved so did the the beams of light rushing to slip through the canopy as if they were spears thrown by the universe to illuminate his world. The usually apathetic vampire was captivated by the lights dancing on Mele's skin, almost wishing breathing was functional to him so he could inhale the fresh beauty that he saw in this moment. As the illumination spread so did his senses as the sounds of the forest suddenly seemed like they had been turned up as if controlled by a dial. She continued to speak but his eyes were following every subtle movement and wisp of air that caught her being, reflecting an image similar to the rare and pale precious Taaffeite gem. It wasn't until a few moments of silence went by that Alistair realized he had fallen off the shelf and opened up, allowing himself to be read more than he wanted to allow. He cleared his throat, returning her smiles with a look vacant of emotion as he tried to rack his memory for whatever it soaked in of the other vampires words. Their topic was rather ironic once it came to him. Change was a funny thing, but he didn't like that kind of humor. "Perhaps I just don't care about the individual like you do to try to understand people. Humanity's habits are easy to follow, like patterns seen in other animals." Alistair didn't have a big emotional capacity by any means, but one would still think with all that free time that he would put it to good use. "To read people well like you do, you must have a history of psychology of some sort. Is that what you went to school for, per chance? One of the times, at least." He offered a wink, knowing it wasn't too uncommon for his kind to be more cultured than most. His older acquaintance used her time wisely learning, most definitely more than she lead on. Mele was more than twice his age, and thinking about wasting another millennium in the shadows with endless potential at his fingertips brought a rain cloud over his head. He stood frozen in his personal gloomy storm, a stark contrast to the glowing light he saw the other in. Smiling through the pain was a look that Alistair remembered seeing on the face of his mother - a mortal woman who's mind was prisoner to depression's clutches. His experience with children was with his mother being depressed because of having them, and here was someone in front of him carrying unimaginable pain due to the loss. He knew she wished to change his mind, that even one person to change would save lives, but his walls were too thick and the man really didn't like talking about himself. The sudden deepening on conversation gave him an out, and he took a few steps forward. Alistair wrapped his arms around the other vampire, resting his chin onto of her head as he loosely crossed his forearms over one another behind her back. A wave of relief washed over him despite the serious topic at hand because it was one that reaffirmed his decision to stay rogue and by himself. "Darling, family and relationships seem to only bring pain in the end - or an entire supernatural war, but that was neither here nor there." He snickered, peaking down at the composed woman speaking of a potential Volturi masterplan - all stemming from a child over one hundred years ago. They really did seem to be the root of many problems. "They probably think they're being creative, but they're not the first dictators to ever stage a coup. Just the first vampires. History always repeats its self I suppose..." He trailed off, thinking of his earlier mention of patterns in humans and society. He had to admit to himself that the Volturi unfortunately did a terrifyingly good job of going under the radar in unpredictability sometimes, but admitting his fear out loud only made it real. Almost like smiling through the pain, 'fake it 'till you make it' had become a core part of his life.

As the sun rose Mele smiled at the shine that filled the forest around them. No matter how old she got Mele never tired of the beauty of what she was. She may be a monster but the beauty always amazes her. She felt herself smile then she looked up hearing him and nodded understanding. Everyone was different and she didn’t need to know their reasons. ”I may have gone to school for psychology. Plus being an elementary teacher helps as well.”she said looking up at him. Mele looked up at him before tilting her head as she watched him.
Watching her friend she saw the smile but could just feel the pain. She gave him a smile but was surprised when he wrapped his arms around her. She stood frozen for a moment as he rested his chin on the top of her head and his arms loosely crossing behind her back. Mele then moved her arms to return the hug. She frowned hearing him and just blinked as she listened to his words. ”They are not supposed to.”she said blinking up at him with a frown.
Hearing him snicker, she peaked up at him then laughed lightly looking down. He had a point and nodded in response. ”I must say you are correct. History repeats multiple times. Especially in the vampire world. I suppose they will never learn.”she said in reply to his words. She had lived during the Romanian rule and during the Volturi take over. Though she had her own things going on. But it was a complete overhaul and everyone knew what was going on. A lot of vampires were killed during that time and Mele was lucky enough to escape the murders.
(I have absolutely no idea if that even made sense. lol)

"an elementary teacher helps as well.”Alistair over analyzed that specific cluster of words, but he could appreciate the honest living that laid behind them. It made him think about his lack-there-of a decent living in general, but that was neither here nor there for now. The vampire liked to keep to himself a little bit to the extreme, and as a result genuine emotional conversations did not come easy to him. Part of him wondered how she could stand to be around so many children when hers were taken from her; he had a bad time as a human and has stayed away from people ever since. Certainly this relic possessed a power and strength he didn't. The man didn't even like to be social, let alone forced to be for extended hours a day while taking orders from a higher up. After his family name was tarnished by the politics his father and brother were involved in, Alistair has adopted and anarchist philosophy. "I have to give you credit, you carry yourself well for everything you have seen in life. A teacher, a saver of life even in death and trying to convert others..." He trailed off, licking his bottom lip before smirking. "And you're right, they're not supposed to. I'm sure the children at work don't cause you turmoil." The shaggy vampire unclasped his hands and took a few steps back, folding his arms while trying to keep his well-practiced poker face. "But you also didn't disagree with me, Mele." He winked before his eyes followed a bird behind her as it flew to the tree he had previously been hiding in. After glancing at his hunting gear he had left, his attention turned to the vampire in front of him once again. Distractions were everywhere. "History repeats multiple times." Alistair's attention was back on the woman before him. Her repetition of his words sunk into him, down to the pit of his stomach. He had fled from the last battle, but this time the Volturi have evened the playing field. This time they're really here - here to stay. As coy as Alistair tried to play in front of others he knew it had to be bad and that something wicked was coming. One could smell it in the air. "I'm starting to have hindsight about my choice to leave one hundred years ago." He snickered. It would be his luck to leave when he was needed in fear of a battle that never came to be only to get himself involved in the next possible large scale vampire war. "And you, dear? Fight or flight?"

Watching the vampire in front of her Mel raised her brow and waited for his reply to her. The truth of the matter was the only reason she was able to work with children now was because she had spent 3400 years mourning her own and she wanted to get past that pain and so she had made the decision to go to school for teaching and become an elementary teacher. It had been slightly painful the first time summer came and she had to let the children go but she had learned over the years and as such she had become stronger and the pain eased every year she taught. Hearing him she let out a chuckle and shrugged before looking up at him. ”I have lived so long I suppose I should do something with all my years on this Earth. Might as well help anyway I can.”she said seeing his smirk. Mel had seen so much in life she could either learn from it and grow or just become numb from the tragedy and she was done being numb. Frowning she looked away at his words because she hadn’t disagreed with him. She knew that some families brought turmoil and pain. Some families brought death and destruction but some didn’t and that is what she had been trying to hold on to all this time. Was that family weren’t supposed to bring those things but it happens and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. ”You are correct. I did not disagree because you are right but so am I. Every family is different and some do bring those things but sadly sometimes we have to deal with the cards we are dealt and move forward.”she said before seeing him get distracted by the bird. Tilting her head she watched him curiously wondering what was running through his mind. When his attention returned to her she watched him still waiting for his words or his reaction. The interaction going on between the two of them was going in a different direction then she had expected but sometimes things happened in ways you least expect. At his words of hindsight she was surprised and raised a brow. ”May I inquire as to why you are starting to have hindsight?”she asked linking her hands behind her back. She stood as she had been taught growing up as a human. It was one thing that had been drilled into her what didn’t seem to fade along with her speech. Blinking at his question she took a false breath and looked up at him leveling her eyes. ”I spent most of my vampire life running and I don’t believe it would save me this time. Besides I am going to protect my family this time. I was unable to save my family before but I will not lose this one.”she said before a smirk flitted across her lips. ”My answer is fight. What will yours be?”she asked with a slight tilt of her head. He had been running since she met him. Hiding in the shadows but always running. She wondered if his hindsight changed his response to fighting instead of flying. ALISTAIR SAVIERO SMYTHE(hope that's okay.)

Every sentence further spoken by the female vampire burrowed deeper and deeper into his canals, finding a resonating home in his head. From her casually mentioning that her profession stemmed from the compelling feeling of making something of all of the years the Earth allowed for them, to moving forward with the cards life deals you, she was uncomfortably striking his chords like a well versed string instrumentalist. He was a sucker for pain. "Well for one, if I didn't leave back then I wouldn't feel the guilt strings tethering me here now." A low grunt escaped his lips. "I could be somewhere on the countryside, not interacting with people for as long as I wanted. But here..." Alistair's eyebrow cocked, looking the female over up and down for the ump-teenth time. "Well bloody hell everything is in Forks. I can't name one damned thing I haven't run into." His expression softened with a snicker. "You're not too bad, though. I can think of worse things to do in the morning."When Mele once again spoke of her family, this time her fight to protect it, he winced as it sounded too familiar for comfort. "I guess you could say all the years I was hiding I felt I could have saved the Cullens. Wild thought, one person making a difference. For nothing, at that. Silly." He quickly coughed to cover up a slip of the tongue. "Not that I think of them as family or anything." "Fighting to redeem myself this time is all. It looks like we share something in common in that department, love."Letting people in wasn't a strength Alistair managed to enhance as easy as hunting and other various skills. "But, I don't think I can fight the sun and the fear of the animals to come near us on the forest floor." He extended his hand slightly, looking up towards his quiver and bow. "So right now I may have to take flight, but if you wanted to stick around and have... breakfast." He winked, a forced breath carried by a chuckle bellowing through the chirping birds' songs. This was the most social he had been in decades. "I suppose it wouldn't be too horrible of a time."
