Hearing her Marcus nodded in appreciation to her claiming that nothing would change her mind. Marcus was pleased that she wouldnt send him away as he wasnt sure if he could stay away but he knew that if she did want to get rid of him he would watch over her but not interact with her. "Thank you, Talia. You have more confidence in me then I do in myself."he said to her and looked to the ground and taking in a deep breath as he had always believed himself a monster especially because of things the Volturi had actually done. At the question that escaped the blonde female's lips, Marcus frowned unsure how exactly to answer her because in truth he wasnt completely sure how to respond to her. His brain was running like crazy trying to figure out why he kept saving her and he honestly wasn't sure how to reply. "I will be honest with you, Talia. The first time I saved you I had no intention of saving you. Your blood 'sang' to me and drew me to the accident. But as soon as I saw you I couldn't do it so I helped you and your father, although he didn't survive in the end, which I am sorry for."he said looking into her lovely blue eyes. He wished he could give her a better explanation but he really couldn't. "When I found out about your father I realized how alone you now were and I couldn't allow myself to just allow something to happen to you."Marcus says before looking away from the woman he had come to care for. A slight chuckle with no humor slipped out and he nodded at her words. "I was lucky to make it that long. Some others were not so lucky."he told her then continued on their way and listened as she went on about how his parents had sold him to the coven as a slave. Blinking he frowned and nodded, "Sadly it was a different time and they needed money to save the farm and so they sold one child to survive though they believed, more then likely, that they were sending me on to a better life. They did not know what was really going to happen to me."he explained hoping to show that he really was born in a different time and that people did what they could to live on. Smiling he nodded, "I am glad I made it as well as I could not imagine not knowing you."Marcus said looking down at her and smiling. As they walked along he thought about what followed after climbing out of the pile of bodies. "Well I wandered for roughly a hundred years before I met Aro, his wife and his sister, Didyme. She had the ability to make people love her but she never used it on me and we fell in love. We married soon after and met Caius and his wife and the three of us along with our wives began building followers and decided to take over as we didnt like the way the world was being run. After many wars we took out the Romanian coven but during this time Didyme and I wished to go off on our own."he explained as they walked along. Marcus frowned as he thought back to those days. "During a raid shortly before we planned to leave she died. I was devastated and begged for them to kill me. They refused. It was the hardest time and over the last 3000 years I did not live in a since. I existed and I did not notice what was happening not only to me but around me. I was quite cold."he said with no pun intended. Marcus sighed as they walked along again keeping his voice low so no one over heard them. TALIA ELIZABETH DAWSON

Talia had been pretty much on her own ever since her parents died so she knew that she wasn’t going to push away the one person she had in her life who genuinely seemed to care about her and who she cared about in return. There had been a few people she had let into her life along the way who had made a lasting impression but for the most part that wasn’t a good thing. She’d thought that she had found herself a family with the friends she had made before Marcus found her the last time but she had been wrong and when she had tried to get out of the life that she had found herself living she had almost died. She hadn’t expected to end up getting stabbed for trying to get out but Marcus had been there to save her then just like he always seemed to be when she needed him the most and she knew that she would always be grateful to him for that. She still didn’t understand why he had taken such an interest in her but she knew that she didn’t want to lose him now. She’d only had one friend before who had looked out for her the way he did and even then she had ended up alone with nothing but the necklace she still wore to this day to remember him by and she knew that she never wanted to find herself alone like that again. As Marcus said that she had more confidence in him than he did, Talia couldn’t help but smile. “You’ve never given me any reason to doubt you,” she said gently. He had only ever looked out for her in a way that no one else ever had and he had saved her more times than she cared to admit so she knew that he wasn’t a monster like he believed himself to be, if he was then he wouldn’t have done any of those things. All she could do was listen as he explained why he had saved her that first night and as he said he was sorry about her father she placed her hand over his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “You have nothing to be sorry for, I know you did everything you could for both of us.” He had pulled them both from the car and given them a fighting chance and that was more than she could have hoped for. “What do you mean my blood sang to you?” she asked, not quite sure what the expression meant although she had a feeling that it probably wasn’t anything good if it was enough to draw him to the crash site. As he spoke again before looking away from her, Talia felt a smile touch her lips once more. “You went above and beyond looking out for me, you’ll never know how much I appreciate it,” she said sincerely. “Trouble always seems to have a habit of finding me so I never would have made it this far without you,” she added. She knew that that was an understatement, ever since her parents died she had found herself in one dangerous situation after another but she had made it through everything that life had thrown her way and that was all down to Marcus. Even though he hadn’t been a proper part of her life for very long the truth was that she had always had a special place in her heart for the man who had always been her Guardian Angel. “It might have been a different time but it still doesn’t seem right,” Talia admitted although she knew that she really wasn’t in any place to judge. She had no idea what things were like for Marcus’ family back then other than the snippets he had told her and if he hadn’t been sold then she was pretty sure that she never would have met him and if she was honest she couldn’t imagine not having him in her life now. As he said that he couldn’t imagine not knowing her she knew that the feeling was mutual. She should have just been an insignificant human to Marcus but he had taken an interest in her and even though she had a feeling that there were probably going to be certain risks associated with that, they were risks that she was prepared to take if it meant that he would stick around this time. “I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you,” she admitted as he filled her in on meeting Didyme and the others and losing her when they decided to leave. She knew that Marcus deserved so much better and just the thought of him going through all of that was enough to make her heart ache for him. “You don’t seem cold to me, at least not in the emotional sense,” she said, her smile returning as they walked in an attempt to pull Marcus out of his reverie. “So they made you stay with them?”MARCUS VOLTURI
