"I was hoping you would say that," Enrique said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Alexis. It really was the best way he knew to relax and that was something that they probably both needed right now. He hadn't had any idea that the storm was going to end up getting this bad and it didn't seem like it was going to come to an end anytime soon but they were safe at least and they still had power for the time being so that was something. "How about Friday after work?" he suggested as Alexis said to let him know when he was free next and they can grab a drink. Enrique knew that he could have stalled or come up with an excuse and if it was anyone other than one of his brothers or Alexis then he probably would have done. They were the only people he really knew in town right now and the truth was that he always felt awkward going out and grabbing a drink alone so he wasn't going to turn down the chance to have some company. Forks was a small town and he already felt like all eyes were on him and his brothers right now so he knew that he would much rather avoid drawing attention to himself. "Good answer," Enrique nodded as Alexis said that he would eat with him. It was still pretty early and he knew that there was a chance that if they didn't have something to eat now then they might not have the power to make something later. "Helpful," he chuckled as Alexis said that he would eat anything. Checking the contents of the fridge and the cupboards, Enrique's expression turned thoughtful for a moment. "That's probably a good idea," he agreed, knowing that it would be best not to push their luck. "How do you feel about chicken stir fry?" he asked, knowing that was something quick to make. Waiting for Alexis's answer, Enrique started gathering everything that they would need and set it all down on the counter. "You can start chopping up the peppers, if you like," he suggested, setting the knife block and chopping board down in front of Alexis as he started preparing the meat. ALEXIS HAYDEN MASTRANO

"Friday works wonders with me. After work." Alex was off that day from school, so he knew he'd have some time to get ready but he couldn't deny the fact that he real excited already and they were nowhere near Friday yet. He just liked the idea of spending time with Enrique and hopefully they'll get to know each other a lot more that way.
"Hey, I'm the guest here. I don't wanna sound rude by making demands. I'm a good and considerate guest." Alex pretended to be all innocent before a chuckle tumbled out of his lips. "I'm vegetarian." He replied in a mock seriousness at first before he grinned. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. That sounds great." And once he was given a task, Alex was more than happy to get started on it, handling the knife carefully so he doesn't chop the pepper too finely and end up ruining the meal. Something felt real domestic about this. He liked it. A lot.

"Great, I'll meet you there," Enrique nodded. There wasn't a big selection of places to go in Forks and there was only one bar so it was easy to know where they would end up. Enrique had work that day but on Fridays unless there were any emergencies they normally closed up early so it seemed like the perfect way to round off the week. He had given up on the idea of pushing Alexis away, there was a part of Enrique that knew it would probably be easier for the guy if they kept their distance from each other but the truth was that Enrique had grown to like having Alexis around. That wasn't something that he had ever thought he would say at first but it was the truth. The guy had originally showed up and tried convincing him to join the pack but Enrique had no intention of doing that. His brother was an Alpha and he was pretty sure that Gabriel would accept that role once Daniel had been found so he wasn't going to give up on his brother. He had thought that Alexis would stop coming around when he realised that Enrique wasn't going to join the pack but he hadn't so Enrique was starting to think that there might be more to it than simply wanting another member for the pack. "It's not rude if someone asks you to let them know what you like," Enrique chuckled. Alexis was right, he was a guest and as such Enrique wanted him to be comfortable and even though Alexis had said that he would eat anything, Enrique had still worried that he might end up making something that the guy wouldn't like. Enrique's face fell as Alexis said that he was vegetarian before rolling his eyes and hitting Alexis's arm as Alexis said that he was kidding. "That wasn't funny," he warned before beginning to gather together everything that they were going to need. Working on the chicken, Enrique glanced over to see how Alexis was doing before a smile touched his lips. "Looks like you're doing pretty well over there, have you done this before?"ALEXIS HAYDEN MASTRANO

Alex was already excited for their time together and today had barely even passed. But he was pretty happy to spend time with Enrique like this, too. "Y'know what? Alright, I concede. For future reference, I like four cheese mac 'n' cheese the most. But, in the case that we're stuck in a situation like this where we need a quick meal, then spaghetti with red sauce will be more than enough, so you're honestly spoiling me with the stir fry." Alex said with a grin resting on his lips.
Enrique's reaction to his joke was enough to make him chuckle. "Sorry, sorry." He managed to say between his chuckles. When Enrique commented on his chopping skills, he held the knife with a proud grin on his lips. "Thank you. I have, actually. Taught myself how to cook back when I was a lot younger. I'm very proud of it. I nearly lost a finger or two back then, but look at me now. All fingers intact and I'm a good chef." Alex was definitely bragging a bit too hard because all he was really doing was chopping up the pepper. "I make a mean Creamy Chicken Piccata With Gnocchi. I'll make it for you one day and I'll let you decide if I should give Gordon Ramsay a run for his money or not." Alex joked, mostly about the last part because he was one hundred percent serious about cooking for Enrique.

Enrique knew that this wasn't the way things were meant to go, he had never been very good at letting people get truly close to him but being around Alexis felt almost easy in a way and the truth was that scared him. He had never had anyone he could confide in about what he was before or what he had been through and even though he had his brothers, Enrique felt like it was his responsibility to look out for them since he was the one responsible for bringing so much trouble into their lives in the first place. He hadn't asked to be switched at birth with another baby but it was because of their connection to him that they were hurting and Enrique wasn't sure that he was ever going to be able to make his peace with that. He knew that he should push Alexis away now and tell him that he couldn't have anything to do with him but the truth was that Enrique wasn't so sure that the guy would listen anyway. He was sure that the two of them having a beer together later that week was a bad idea and yet he couldn't bring himself to put a stop to it because the truth was that he wanted to see Alexis again. "Four cheeses, huh? I guess I know your weakness," Enrique chuckled. He wasn't too sure why it amused him to learn that Alexis's favourite dish consisted of so much cheese but for some reason it seemed to fit and it was definitely something that he was going to have to make sure to remember, as was the other dish he liked. Enrique really wasn't sure why considering he knew that he would probably never end up cooking for him again but it was something that he wanted to commit to memory anyway. "Stir fry is pretty easy since we need something quick but I also make an amazing Chile en Nogada," he shrugged. He'd had to learn to cook after he was sent out hunting on his own but even before that he'd been pretty self suficient anyway. His parents had never been particularly nurturing and had left him to fend for himself for the most part but it was something that he'd come to enjoy rather than despise and now he liked to try and cook for his brothers when he had the chance. As Alexis apologised, Enrique rolled his eyes playfully. "No you're not," he grumbled, knowing that Alexis definitely wasn't sorry if his laughter was anything to go by. Being raised the way he was there was no way that Enrique ever could have gone vegetarian so he had no idea how to even begin thinking about how to cater to someone who was. "Im glad you didn't lose any of your fingers," he grinned, knowing all too well how easy it would have been for that to happen for anyone when they were starting out. "How old were you when you learnt?" he asked, unable to deny that he was curious. He didn't know much about Alexis's past and Enrique knew that he really shouldn't care but the truth was that he did and he just couldn't seem to help it. He was raised to be a hunter and do things on his own but he had come to realise that he actually liked having others around him now that his secret was out in the open. "You're that confident in your abilities, are you?" Enrique asked, unable to deny that he was amused. "Alright, you're on," he said before he could stop himself and tell himself once more that this was a very bad idea. ALEXIS HAYDEN MASTRANO

Alex gasped as if he was betrayed that Enrique would use his weakness against him. "Don't you dare. If you try to bribe me with this meal..." Alex pointed his index finger in a warning way at Enrique. "I will, one hundred percent, do what you want me to do. But still." Alex lowered his finger because he knew that, realistically speaking, he really wasn't going to do anything. "Oh, shit, really? I'd love to try that one day. I've never had that before, actually." And it honestly sounded like a dream already, so he was definitely excited to give it a try.
Alex smiled innocently before shaking his head as if to say that he was definitely not sorry about that joke. "Thank you. I quite like my fingers, too, honestly." Alex nodded, pleased with the fact that he hadn't cut his fingers while he was learning how to cook his mother any meals. "Like, uh, ten years old, maybe." Alex replied with a shrug of his shoulders following. "I had to, or else we'd all starve. My mom was in a... pretty bad headspace, so I had to take care of her." Alex explained. Talking about his mom doesn't really hurt like it used to back then and he liked to think of it as a sign of him maturing. "Oh, absolutely." Alex replied with a cocky grin on his lips. "Oh, yeah? Gonna challenge me for the title? I like that. Alright, let's see what you've got." Alex said with that same grin on his lips. Well, it meant spending more time with Enrique. So he was definitely not complaining about it.
