Enjoying the View

[VATALLIA EVERLY EMERSON]

Vatallia stood on the beach of La Push and stared out at the water. She knew it was Volturi territory but it was too beautiful to pass on. Standing there she felt the breeze on her face and took in a deep breath to enjoy the beauty around her. The green haired female smiled to herself as she stood there. It was a school day so all those that were suppose to be in school were and the adults around were at work so Vee had decided to take advantage of the beauty and was quite pleased with herself. The old vampire had graduated high school the last May but she had opted to stick around the area as it was truly beautiful.

The vampire stood there happily but after several hours of just standing there and enjoying the peace she heard something. At the noise she snapped her head in the direction and was surprised to see a person heading toward the beach. Vee looked around trying to think of what to do and headed back to the fallen tree farther away from the beach. As she sat there she took in a breath, being sure to seem human, and slowly released it. Who would be at the beach this early in the day when most were in school or at work?

Perrin walked along the beach, taking in the cold sea air as the waves crashed over the small rocks and sand. He'd felt rather lost after leaving the castle. Jane had shown him around and yet he still couldn't help but feel that something was amiss in that place. It wasn't just the obvious wealth at their disposal but the fact that it was magically here. Not over seas in some ancient city but Forks of all places. It was an eerie feeling that he couldn't get rid of. Sighing softly as he moved he didn't even notice someone else on the beach for a few moments. And had to do a double take as he drew closer.

"Afternoon." He said as he remembered finally to be polite to someone who was on the beach. "Sorry if I interrupted your thoughts." He said as he stopped nearby and smiled apologetically. "I didn't expect to see anyone else out here since they bought the Rez." he said gesturing off into the distance at the castle that was just visible through the slight mists that were a perpetual feature of Washington.

Watching the person walk closer toward her, Vee sat patiently as she watched the waves crash. It really was a beautiful sight infront of her. When the person was close, Vee glanced over and gave him a faint smile before hearing him speak. To be completely honest, she wasn't surprised as most people were really nice and polite and she tilted her head at his apology. "Oh no. You didn't. I was just admiring the beauty." The vampire gestured to the view in front of her.

Laughing lightly at the comment she smiled at the human. "I was thinking the same thing. I suppose great minds think alike?" The green haired vampire was curious what some of the locals thought of the invasion of vampires. Not that they knew what they were bust still. "Are you here for the view or something else?" She rose her head curious as to how he would respond.

Perrin nodded softly. "I'm glad I didn't bug you then." he said as he looked out over the sea once more. "I was actually taking a tour of the castle up until about twenty minutes ago." he said. "Not exactly something I ever expected to see on this side of the world. So far away from Europe." He said with a chuckle. "What about you? What brings you out to this point?" He asked her as he guestured to the spectacular view in front of them. He'd stopped walking when he was a good dozen steps from her. Not wanting to impose upon her by walking straight up to her.

When he mentioned having just finished a tour of the castle, Vee was dumbfounded. Normally if people went in for a tour then never came back alive. She tried not to stare but she wondered why he hadn't been eaten. Why would they give him a tour then leave him alive? Vatallia needed to know. "I suppose it is a little out of place here." Vee glanced in the direction of the castle and her eyebrows creased together at the confusion that was now clouding her mind. Due to this the vampire wasn't paying full attention to the guy but when she heard him speak she glanced up at him before looking around in the direction he was gesturing. "oh um I wanted to clear the jumbled mess in my brain. I though la push would be a good place to go since most people are at school or work. The waves are calming." The vampire closed her eyes and took a light breath in order to show the calming effect. When she opened her eyes she looked up at him again before giving a gentle smile. "If you'd like you may sit. I promise I don't bite....hard." Vee smiled innocently at her joke. If he knew what she was then the human male would think differently about her but he didn't and that was fine.

[PERRIN JAMES AYABARA]

Perrin chuckled. "The waves rather are amazing at that." he said as he moved a few steps closer. "Honestly, I'm wondering if the Japanese don't have it right. Living on an island being able to go to a beach on any side." he said with a smile as he grinned before his face started to redden at her comment of biting hard. "thanks for the seat." Perrin moved closer and sat just a few feet from her. "School still huh. I wouldn't of pegged you for a student around here." He said as he looked at her. "Must of just missed seeing you in class by a year maybe." he said as he examined the sight of her to see if he could place her.

Sitting there and staring out at the waves, Vee was enjoying the peace of the waves. The company didn't bother her at all. "They truly are. Japan is quite beautiful. Seeing the beach on all sides is spectacular."she told him as she thought back to when she traveled to the island nation. She had seen quite a bit of the world. Glancing at the male from the corner of her eye she saw him blush and a smirk slipped across her lips. "It's no problem at all. It's nice to have company." When the subject of school was brought up she laughed softly. "I graduated from Forks High school in May. I kind of stayed in the shadows not wanting to be noticed."she explained as she sat there with him.

"You've been to Japan?" he asked her suddenly as he listened to her talk about it's beauty. "And your only what? Eighteen, Nineteen at most?" Perrin said rather astounded. She must have had some childhood if she could talk about being to Japan like it was nothing. "That's one of my dream vacation spots." he sighed as he looked over at her. "I missed you by about three years. I graduated about five years ago." He said with a frown. "You might know either of my siblings though. Min graduated in May and Rand is a sophomore." Perrin said looking back out at the waves.

When he asked about Japan she realized what she had done and nodded. "I've traveled a lot. Tend not to stay in once place for too long. Well except this time." Vatallia looked up at him and smiled while nodding. "It's beautiful. I think anyone would love it." Bee hummed softly at his comment and nodded. "I believe I heard the names but I didn't actually talk to them." She turned and looked at him. "Have you lived here your whole life?"

He nodded as he glanced back over at her. "Fair enough." he said as she mentioned his siblings. "I've lived in and around Forks all my life unfortunately. Been working for the county as an Animal Tracker lately though. Wood's Guide, Forester, Whatever you want to call it. They call me in to track down some of the more high profile cases of people going missing as well. Although I only ever find what's left after the animals have at them unfortunately. Haven't saved a single soul yet." he said with a sigh

"How do you like living around here? Since you've been around the area you're entire life?" Vatallia raised her brows hearing him bring up his job. "Color me impressed. But you shouldn't feel bad that you haven't saved anyone yet. I'm not sure how many you've seen but if you were nearby while the individual was still alive you might not be able to survive the situation." Vee was sure it probably sounded bad but when you're mortal surviving is the best thing you can do. Especially in an area where werewolves, vampires, and shapeshifters reside.

"I enjoy it for the most part. I get bored easily though. The furthest I've ever gone is Seattle. And even then that was when I was a kid." He said with a soft sigh. "I do love the forest though." Perrin nodded as she mentioned surviving. "True. I used to think that having a gun along would help. But with how some of the remains we've found have looked. I might need a machine gun of some kind just to stop whatever it is that's Killing folks." He said with a small sigh.

When he mentioned that he hadn't been farther then Seattle Vatallia's eyes widen. She had become accustomed to moving around a lot since becoming a vampire so she had nearly forgotten what it was like to be stationary for such a long time. "Why? Why not take a chance and just go? If you truly want to then I think you should take advantage of it." Vee smiled sweetly at the male as they sat there speaking softly and enjoying the view. She didn't look away from the horizon for a good minute mostly because of his comment about having a gun on his at all times. "Do you have any idea what it could be?" Vatallia had a pretty good idea that it was either a vampire or werewolf but she wasn't about to expose the supernatural just for entertainment. But she was curious to see if he had any inkling as to what it was.

Perrin sighed. "I would but travel anymore is just too expensive. I could buy a decent chunk of land here in Forks for the same price as a vacation in Japan. I'd Rather build a decent home here then travel around the world." He admitted as he thought about it. And as she asked what he thought it might be he frowned. "Honestly the tracks around each body I've found are rather annoying to try and figure out." He said. "Wolf tracks yes. But when they are the size of Bear Tracks it gets confusing. And the random High Heel print in the middle of the woods. Singular mind you. One High Heel print. It just gets so irritating. It's like we have a serial killer, And they have a sick sense of humor and try to just frustrate every effort to keep people alive." He said with a sigh.

Listening to him talk about the cost of travel, Vee laughed softly to herself. "I see your point. I suppose I am just really lucky."she said softly not wanting to tell him that she could literally swim or run to anywhere she wanted to travel. Vatallia frowned as she heard him talk about the tracks that were located around the bodies. She knew exactly what it was that he was seeing. The wolf tracks and the high heel prints and such. Humming softly the vampire tilted her head before looking at him. "Unfortunately, some people are just plan evil."she said remembering what her father did to her mother.
