June 2117

Over a hundred years have passed since the Volturi came to Forks seeking to eradicated what they thought to be an abomination - the supposed Immortal Child, Renesmee. The day the Cullens were cleared of any and all wrongdoing was just the start of their long and happy lives together. Having left Forks a few years after the Volturi returned to Italy, the Cullens have travelled all over the world. During that time each couple went off on their own for a short while, Carlisle and Esme even retiring to Isle Esme for a few years after the Volturi's visit so they could relish in each other's company following the terrible vision that Alice had of what could have easily become their future, before finally reuniting and forming a family unit that is even stronger than ever.

One thing that remained constant was the love that each of them shared. Bella and Edward, Rosalie and Emmett, Alice and Jasper; and Carlisle and Esme are all still happily married and Jacob and Renesmee are still going strong. Jacob's pack has been long since welcomed into the family and there have been a few more additions to the Cullen family along the way in the form of Edythe Cullen and Beaufort Swan. Edythe, having already become a vampire twenty years before she met Bella's younger brother, Beau, soon fell in love with him and turned him after he followed in his sister's footsteps and found himself in grave peril when he became entangled in the supernatural world. Bella, having eventually come clean to her family, had tried to warn her brother but to no avail and following his turn he was welcomed into the family alongside Edythe.

Now the Cullen family has returned to Forks having spent long enough away from the place they all consider to be their home. They aren't the only ones who have returned, however, as the Volturi, having learned of their plans and the cunning Aro still wanting to recruit several members of the family to their ranks, made a deal with a corrupt Quileute chief and bought the land on which the reservation once stood. Now much of the reservation has been completely destroyed, a castle has been built on the land that is the new home of the Volturi and tourists flock to the area much like they did in Volterra. The Cullens suspect they know their true motives but the Volturi have much more up their sleeves.

With the enemy so close at hand more Quileutes than ever are transforming into wolves but the treaty with the Cullen family still remains. As long as they do not feed from any humans and only turn those who are fatally wounded or choose to become vampires the two can live in peace together but for how long will the truce last and for how long will the Swan family be able to keep Bella's secret?
