Zidane marveled in the gorgeous day. Yes, it was still cloudy and overcast. But for once, The rain had gone. Leaving the world smelling of Petrichor , A glorious smell to a werewolf. It was clean, and hunting the wildlife in the world was even easier then it had been. Letting him track with ease even as a human. He'd followed the trail of a deer for the last 4 miles. Crossing the boundary into the reservation without a second thought. He had a bow with a few arrows on him and was carrying a back pack with clothes and a few odds and ends on the off chance that someone wanted to check.
Crossing across the river once again he frowned. How was this deer keeping ahead of him. He thought he'd had it a mile back but it just kept eluding him. "Where the hell is it going?" he muttered quietly to himself. He could easily catch it if he started to use his werewolf stamina. But where would the fun be in that. He kept moving. Heading deeper into the res as he tracked the deer. Finally seeing it again he started to line up a shot as he edged around a tree waiting for the perfect moment.

If Caius had to pick one thing he liked about Washington state it would be the weather. Forks and LaPush were particularly ideal with the areas calling for overcast skies about seventy-five percent of the time, allowing Caius to freely come and go from the castle almost as he pleased. Northern America was much different than northern regions of Italy. He didn’t have to cover himself from head-to-toe in dark shrouds to evade human eyes. In fact there were barely any human eyes around the reservation since he kicked the dogs to the curb, so to speak. The natives followed their evicted protectors, and because of the government mandated land was technically a reservation one could not just trespass. It happened, sure, but few and far between came without him knowing. Animal and human alike. His hair, usually left untamed to hide the translucent glisten over his skin, was pulled back into a bun. The rain falling down on his bare face was soothing. Caius recalled some three thousand years ago when he was in ancient armies and how refreshing rain was after battle, though as a newborn he quite liked to wear the blood of his fallen enemies. What he liked more than that was watching the storms over the beach with his wife since their move, but there was a certain tranquility about being alone in the rain that Caius did not experience often. As the rain stopped he was brought back to the present. The sound of the river flowing became dominant once again as the last of the drops fell from the leaves. Without the rain he could hear much more, and just like that he realized he was no longer alone. Caius picked up a rather frantic heartbeat moving at an inhuman pace. He stopped in his tracks as did what he assumed to be an animal of some sort. But what was it running from? The vampire took a roundabout to investigate, and as he got closer he could hear another heartbeat. That ruled out another vampire, he thought perhaps it could be a vegetarian hunting for their meal. But alas, vampires did not have heartbeats which led Caius to believe that lunch just delivered itself to him. As he fearlessly and calmly walked forward the small black outlines became more visible, and the commotion revealed itself to be a hunter stalking its target. Looking to the ground to spot every twig and branch he could step on to spook the animal he found himself disappointed, as the rain soaked the wood and with it left the crackling snaps. Once he got closer he settled for dramatically clearing his throat as he stepped into view. ”Pardon me. Do you have a hunting license?” He spoke out, but he seemed to choke on his words. A very real coughing fit took over him as he approached the malodorous man. The strangers dark and ragged appearance strikingly contrasted his own polished aryan features, and if he didn’t know any better he would say this hunter bathed in the rotten blood and guts of each of his kills and never washes off – twice, if not three times as worse than any shifter he encountered on this very land. He finally regained his composure. ”You’re on my property, you see.” Caius’ face twisted as he fought through the smell, affirming his notion that humans and animals alike are filthy to the core.

Zidane heard the breaking of twigs and the sound of the leaves rustling and quickly knocked his arrow and fired at the deer. But it was too late the deer had already taken off at a run. "God damnit" He muttered to himself before he turned to look in the sound of the noises. His eyes going wide slightly as he frowned. "Your property?" he asked. "I thought this was the La Push Reservation. And belonged to the Quillete tribe." He said simply as he lowered his bow to his side. He studied the man carefully, taking in how he was standing and the fact that his clothing definitely did not belong in the woods. "Which means that I don't need a hunting license to hunt here. As long as I have permission from someone in the tribe to hunt." He added as he realized what the first question the man had said was.
Zidane moved slowly taking a good look at the man as he moved away from the Tree he'd been next to. He slowly turned his head to look where the deer had been and sighed. "Made me miss a perfectly good shot too." He muttered before he moved away from the man to retrieve his arrow. "What the hell are you doing out here in those clothes anyway. The weather will kill you before you see another soul." He added as he crouched down and picked the arrow up.

The vampire stayed silent, a twisted scowl on his face until he heard something along the lines of "I thought this was the La Push Reservation, and belonged to the Quillete tribe" - and with that he lost his composure. A loud cackling of mockery bellowed from him as he brought his hand to his mouth to stifle his amusement. Caius cleared his throat, composing himself enough to speak as the rugged man lowered his equipment. "Oh dear boy you must have been living underground for the past few years. It would explain your appearance." He commented, raising his brow as they observed one another. "Permission from someone in the tribe?" He scoffed, rolling his eyes dramatically. "The only power here is me, and I don't need a wildling bringing down my property value and scaring my meals away." Caius preferred to have his food imported - humans with a diet of hormone-free, grass-fed, free-ranged fish or animals and all organic everything, surviving off of pure spring water (no tap or minerals, of course) and with a few ounces of Lagavulin coursing through their system only moments before he sunk his teeth into them. He was a picky eater, and by the scent of this beast he knew he was not worthy of consumption... so what to do with him? That was the question, and Caius liked to play games. But apparently so did the other man. The audacity. Who was this man to comment on what Caius was wearing? At almost polar opposites one stood dark and bushel-haired, the sweat and dirt on him mixing into an earthly cologne - the other on the opposite side of the color wheel, white in pampered hair and skin and devoid of any smells or... anything, really. His usual dark robes were replaced today with a white silk suit, an addition to his holier-than-thou complex as he around like some kind of twisted angel out of the sun. They both stood well above six feet yet Caius was half of the weight as the mountain man. But the vampire was afraid nothing, except.... that scent. It wasn't until Caius stood where the man had been when he came across them that it hit him full force, taking his place when he walked away to retrieve his arrow. With his olfactory system in overdrive, the vampire watched every move of the un-phased man a few trees away. His jaw clenched, and his teeth started to grind together so hard that they just might have broken if he was human. "Pardon my manners." He managed to get out between gritted teeth. Allow me to rectify my interference with your hunt, and offer you a gift from the Castle. But Caius had no plans of making it to the Castle. What he wanted to do was finish the inquisition he started hundreds of years ago, one he thought he ended. It had been a while. "My name is Caius, and I'm very interested to know who you and your little tribe pet are."

Zidane's eyes narrowed at the condescending tone on the man's voice. "More along the lines of living on the opposite coast." He said simply in response to the mans comment on him living underground. "You are afraid of one man bringing down property values. And meals? My hunting simple game in the wilds might mean less for you. But one deer wouldn't starve you. And if you had just asked. I would of shared the kill with you." He said as he looked at him. He couldn't seem to keep control of his temper at the moment. And it was going to lead to problems if this man kept being an ass.
He couldn't believe the man could be such an antagonist. He didn't seem to be exactly all there. But at least he would have a decent story to take back to Nola once he was done here. And having to listen to the man he might snap but at least he wouldn't have to worry about being in the middle of city this time.
The mans sudden change in demeanor was startling. But Zidane wasn't sure he could trust it. "One of those who own the castle hmm." He said as he glanced in the direction of the castle. From what I've heard. You aren't exactly liked around here." he said as he looked over at him. "Caius." He said as he looked at the man. "Little pet tribe huh." He said. He was not sure but it seemed like the man wanted to know where the pack he'd left behind on purpose was. "I guess I can let the pretense go then." He said with a raised eyebrow and amused look on his face. "If you want to find them. I'd recommend you look in Maine" He said with a chuckle.
