An Unusual Date (Mele)

Zidane walked through the town center. Enjoying the cool air that was provided by the weather today. It had been raining off and on but now it was just cool and misty. He'd been living with Mele for the last month and every day had been an adventure. From the first time she'd seen him shift to the amount of blood he'd gathered for her. It was definitely a different experience for him and today was going to be no different. He'd finally asked her if she'd join him in town. He wanted to get her out of the house apart from just going to see her friends and now he was going to see if she could handle herself in public again. She'd always said she could handle herself apart from the one time she'd broken down. 

Heading into the town center he stood beside a small fountain and waited. His hands in his jacket pockets to 'protect' them from the chill that he couldn't feel. Just to mimic the other people walking the square. He wasn't sure what to expect. He didn't know if she was going to dress up. Or just come casual and it made him slightly nervous. He didn't know if this was going to be considered their first date or just a day out among friends.

Since coming to live with Zidane, the pair had become close and Mele had realized after only a few days that things weren't exactly normal between them. As time passed Mele felt herself becoming increasingly attracted to the werewolf. It was several more weeks of him helping her get blood as she didn't feel comfortable doing it alone. Mele had also experienced his transformation which was hard for her as she had come to care for him by that time and as he was in pain and that hurt her. The moment Zidane had asked her to meet in the town square the nerves began getting to her as she wasn't sure if she could be in public near people as she hadn't been near humans since her day of weakness. Shortly after he had asked her out, Mele was fixing her hair, after her shower, she realized that this was going to be a date or a date like setting. Her eyes had grown wide and she had squealed since Zidane had left already. How could she not have realized it sooner?!

As she got ready for their meeting, she rushed into her closet and found the perfect outfit. One she had gotten from her home and had yet to wear. The immortal vampire smiled as she got dressed and fixed her hair. Before long she had her make up on and her hair pinned back. Mele smiled as she sat on her stool in front of her vanity while putting her heels on. When she finished buckling her heels, Mele slipped her jewelry on and took in a breath as this was going to be difficult for the vampire. Mele moved to her full length mirror and checked over herself to make sure everything was in place. She also checked her eyes even though she had fed before her shower to make sure she would be fine in town.

When Mele arrived at the town center she took a look around and smiled when she saw Zidane waiting by the fountain. Taking a relaxing breath while being sure no human was within scenting range, Mele began heading over to the man. She gripped the strap of her cross body purse and looked up at him. "Zidane. I hope I'm not late. Forgive me if I am."she said sweetly while looking at him. Mele was nervous as maybe she had been wrong and this wasn't a date but she just decided to wait to see what happened and let the meeting flow. Modern relationships had been slightly foreign to the vampire as she had grown up when dating was not even close to being a thing. Everything was arranged and typically you didn't meet your spouse til your wedding so dating would take a little bit for her to get used to.

Zidane sighed softly as he waited for Mele, He wasn't sure what to make of the night out with her. She'd been living with him and they were close. But were they close enough to warrant a date. He'd never taken anyone out since he'd turned into a werewolf for the first time. Always worried about hurting them with either his intensity or his strength that had grown with the turn. And now he'd found someone who might actually be able to handle both of them.

When she arrived, Zidane smiled in response to her question. "You are not late." he said with a smile and took in her outfit. "You look amazing." he said as he grinned. Zidane was happy that it wasn't just a random casual outfit. It meant that he could approach this in the way he wanted to rather then trying to restrain himself from flirting. He moved over to her and offered her his arm. "Shall we get this evening started?" he asked her as he motioned to the area around them. "I have a bowling lane reserved and we can always go out and catch a movie or something." he said with a smile.

Seeing Zidane smiling warmed the ancient vampire. She knew she wasn't late but it was nice to hear him say it. When the compliment left his lips, she almost wished she could blush but was glad she couldn't. "Thank you. You look great as well." The woman was nervous still though she hoped she was hiding it well. As he offered his arm, she slipped hers through and lightly held on. A giggle escaped and she nodded at his question. "Sounds wonderful." When he mentioned bowling she hesitated only for a moment. "I have to be honest. I've never actually been bowling. I've heard it's fun. I hope you don't mind showing me." Mele looked up at him innocently. She had never really bowled as she had other things going on when it was really big. Not to say that she never wanted to because she did.

He chuckled. "Well, I don't mind showing you how to bowl. It's fairly easy as long as you don't have long nails." he said with a smile as he looked down at her hand. "And if they are too long, There are other ways to hold the Ball so you don't hurt your fingers" Zidane said with a wink as he patted the top of her hand and began to lead her towards the bowling alley. "And I'm mainly saying these things in case someones listening." he said. "Just don't damage the ball too much if you need to adjust it for your hand." he said with a smile.

As he explained and spoke of nails she instinctively looked at her own. When she was alive they didn't really care about such things though they kept them at an acceptable length to take care of daily needs. Though Mele was a middle-class noble lady so she had reasonable length nails. She had since tried to blend in more and sometimes groomed them or painted them. Today she had opted for a clear coat over her plain nails. She felt reasonably comfortable saying she could hold the ball as he said.

Mele almost laughed when he mentioned hurting her fingers though she assumed it was for any prying ears. She nodded and smiled as he led the way. "I believe mine are at a reasonable length. Do you agree?" The vampire showed her hand to him though she knew the answer. There were times where she really felt like she was dropped in this time period as she avoided some modern things. Overall as she had lived during these times she tried her best to keep up.

With a smirk, she nodded, "I shall try my best not to."
