Finding the Beauty in Everything

When the dark haired female dress that morning she was dress to hike and she made sure to wear clothes that would be comfortable to a human. She hadnt been a human in so long and to be honest she could probably wear a ballgown in the woods and be comfortable. Being a vampire had so many advantages. She was concerned with the weather and hoped it would be atleast mostly cloudy all day otherwise her identity would be revealed and she didnt want that. This guy made her feel strange but it was a good strange and she iked it. She never thought she would like this feeling.

Standing in front of her mirror she took in a false breath and blinked as she stared at herself. She didn't need to do either but she liked to make sure she could pass as a human. Hearing a vehicle pulling down the road outside she headed to the front door where a backpack was waiting. When he pulled in her driveway she had already closed the door behind her. Vee waved and walked down the stairs. "Morning."she said as she approached the truck.

Perrin had gotten up fairly early, he had plans for the day and needed to make sure he was ready. Taking someone out hiking was a job. But at least this time it wouldn't be something he was aggravated about. This time he was taking someone out who actually hiked and could probably handle her own. Getting up and dressed he checked the weather report to make sure it wasn't going to rain or snow. But sighed as he realized it was going to be almost entirely cloudy again. Sighing he added a small tent to his pack just in case they needed to get out of the weather quickly. It wouldn't be the most comfortable thing. But at least they wouldn't get wet.

Getting his truck going he quickly loaded it while it heated up and he climbed into the cab. Checking the fuel he nodded before driving off to the gas station, parking to fill it up. He went inside and purchased a few more packs of beef jerky to supplement the food he was bringing. Filling the truck took almost no time and soon enough he was heading down the street and pulling into the driveway of the address Vatallia had given him. Seeing her coming out he smiled and waved before leaning over to pop open the door for her to climb in as well. "Good Morning." he said with a smile. "How was your night?" he asked.

Seeing him open the door she smiled and tossed her pack in the back of his truck, so it didn’t cramp up to cab. She climbed in and smiled at his greeting and question. ”It was quite pleasant. Though I wont deny that the excitement may have gotten to me a tiny bit.”she replied not wanting to seem like she didn’t sleep. Which she didn’t because as a vampire they couldn’t sleep. But that’s another story. Closing the door behind her she put her seatbelt on, though it wasn’t needed, she had to seem human.

”How was your night? I hope I didn’t put you out because of this near impromptu hike.” she said hopeful. Vatallia knew that this day would be touchy because though it was supposed to be majorly cloudy that didn’t mean the weather wouldn’t change and the sun wouldn’t slip through. Vee would hopefully be able to stay out of the sun so her vampirism wouldn’t be exposed. A smile appeared on her lips and she wanted to enjoy this day and not be exposed to this guy she had just met.

watching her toss her bag in the back he chuckled softly. "Well, Being excited does tend to keep on from dreams." he said with a smile as he waited for her to close the door. "It's gonna be overcast most of the day, Do you want to grab an extra jacket just in case?" he asked her with a small smile. "Or do you have everything you need?" He asked as he thought about his reply. "My night was okay. Just went to bed earlier then usual. Keeps me from missing out on too much sleep." he said as he glanced behind them at the bed of the truck. "And you definitely didn't put me out because of this. It's far too rare an occasion where I'm not working while Hiking." he said with a smile.

Laughing softly she nodded, glad that he didn't think anything of it. When he mentioned getting a jacket she gave a sweet smile and shook her headd."Don't you worry bout lil ol' me. I'm all covered. Question is, are you?"she said teasingly. The truth was Vee didn't care about the weather as long as it stayed covered. Meaning she didn't bring an extra jacket. She'd be fine without it.

As he spoke of his prior night, Vee looked up at him and listened. "It's a shame that more people don't enjoy hiking just to hike." Vatallia looked out the window as she said this. Her mind was constantly wondering so she sat quietly for several moments as he backed his truck out of the driveway.

He chuckled, "I'm fairly certain I'm all covered." he said with a smile. "Of course if I forget anything, Well, I guess I'm just out of luck then." he said as he moved to pull the Truck back out of the driveway. Letting their conversation lapse as he navigated through the city. "Most people when they are tourists here. They tend to have destinations in mind, Maybe climbing the mountains or Seeing some of the old landmarks that have been around for centuries. Those people who want to hike for hiking's sake tend to be more... Individualized. Let people know a basic path and then go hiking for hours or days depending on the weather." he said as he turned a corner and got onto the small highway.

As they drove along, Vee's sight remained out the window. She was trying to enjoy the drive. It wasn't often she was in a car. Hearing him speak of hiking for hours or days caused her head to snap back to him. "What's the longest hike you've ever gone on?"she asked curiously.  Vatallia knew that people did that sort of thing but she never understood exactly why people would do that. As a vampire she was used to this type of thing but for humans to willing to do days of hikes confused her. Of course she was born in another time when this hiking thing wasn't really a thing. Perhaps being around someone who did it for a living would help her understand.
